Supreme Court’s immigration ruling could cost 200,000 Silicon Valley jobs

Silicon Valley could lose more than 200,000 jobs during the next 10 years as a result of Thursday’s evenly divided Supreme Court that effectively upheld a lower court’s decision blocking President Obama’s plan to shield nearly 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation.

Obama had issued an executive order in 2014 to allow as many as 5 million unauthorized immigrants who were the parents of citizens or of lawful permanent residents to apply for a program that would spare them from deportation and provide them with work permits…
